Mindfulness pilot programme to be launched in schools from Jan.4: Minister

I am Sri Lankan working as school teacher in Britain. What would shock all Sri Lankans back home is the aggression and the violence among the pupils in British Schools. It had been the case all along but no one told us how terrible and out of control the British school students are. However bad Sri Lankan schools maybe , I can say even the worst Sri Lankan school is much better in discipline and student learning than any average British school. If anyone disagrees with me , feel free to Google (1) History of Violence in Schools in England (2) Policemen patrolling British schools to prevent violence.

First supply the stationeries, uniforms and meals to the school children.About 70% of the parents do not have money to afford and manage the exorbitant prices.In 2023 Child labour will increase

Why this man talking Bana to all others! Meditation must begin at the parliament to make proper rules! Parlaiment suggest to legalise ganja - open clubs, pubs, brothels 24 hours - open more and more bars - some MPs hit officers who come to their homes to deliver services (electricity bills, telephone bills etc). This PISSA is talking nonsense.

Mindfulness is found in major religions.But it is Buddha who made it to a science of the mind. Mindfulness meditation is scientific. Lot of research has been done in western universities. As a trained meditation teacher I know how it impacts on the mind and human behaviour.

Of course, this idiotic idea can only come from a child abusing crook in orange. Also, any teaching in religious studies has no place in government schools, since Sri Lanka is a secular country. Instead, there should be lessons in ethics.

Education Dreamers....., first set out an Educational policy that befits and benefits our nation - national and international needs. Our children are yet to see a computer, wifi is a luxury. The world has gotten into Robotic Mode and Artificial Intelligence. we are the world inside a cocoon.

Research shows that ‘Loving-Kindness’ meditation (metta meditation) can also be very beneficial in many different ways - so, it is always good to incorporate that practice along with (or perhaps just after) mindfulness meditation that is carried out within the ten minutes.
