Car's Number Plate is covered with paint surely in connivance with police which means this is money (Merc) robbed from public. Poor ignorant police do not understand that this is their and their children's money too. Pathetic Sri lanka

Looks like a race between three wheeler and the car. Most probably the car was being driven at high speed , driver probably under the influence, and the three wheeler must have been driven in such a way obstructing the speeding car. That us how things work in Sri Lanka.

    Mizaru Saturday, 10 December 2022 06:59 PM

We want to know if the driver has been apprehended and the three women remanded for trying the escape from the accident scene.

MB should employ Sri Lankans to "try-out" their luxury vehicles!!

    D R WILLIAM Saturday, 10 December 2022 09:55 PM

The driver must be a son of a wealthy business man or politician who was under the influence of liquor. Now the innocent household driver will come forward to take the responsibility of the accident. This is law of mother Sri Lanka

    Cloy Saturday, 10 December 2022 11:03 PM

An innocent tuk driver had to be the victim of this incident. The merc drunk driver must be under the influence of hard liquor. Should not he be deserved the capital punishment?

    Siri Sunday, 11 December 2022 12:06 AM

Why hide the number plate. People should know who owns the car.

For a Mercedes (a safe car brand) to come to this sad state, speaks volumes of the manner in which it was driven. Please seek and arrest this driver and put him behind bars and throw away the keys. Money and position does not allow one to behave so callously as this- except in Sri Lanka.

Until we get some lae and order on to our roads these accidents will not stop. Proper fines for disobeying traffic laws via cameras set up on certain roads with fines sent directly to the owner of the cars address with a photo of the offence will be a start to what can be seen as a disaster to everyone and a disgrace to foreigners who are petrified when they see a bus coming at them on the wrong side of the road. High time we attended to this isssue and collect some much needed revenue for the government.

“Luxury car”?? it’s a Mercedes CLA, the lowest of the range with a 1.5 liter engine.

every thing will be washed up if you have the right connection to the political authority in this country. This is what has been happening in this country and until this corrupt system of governance is discontinued we will the same spectacle in the years to come.

The reckless and careless driving made innocent life lost. Thus they have been returning from a night club. So they are believed to be intoxicated. It is duty of the police to investigate in to this incident.to take the culprits in to the custody

    Sudda Sunday, 11 December 2022 09:46 AM

    LankanLover Sunday, 11 December 2022 12:31 PM

Daily Mirror, Mercedes only in the headlines? you have to mention the three wheeler as well as he lost his precious life! don't be so biased!

Concerned citizen Sunday, 11 December 2022 12:48 PM

The diver should be tried in court and let the police take action. I am not taking in favour of the driver or passengers. Law can’t be taken on the the hands of people. This mob attitude is scary and medieval, the comments section shows the low mindset of the readers.

elementary MY DEAR WATSON Sunday, 11 December 2022 05:45 PM

Check the chassis and engine number and trace the owner, The occupants in the car would have not lost their voice ! The car cubby will surely have the revenue license and even the copy pf the emission test = my dear sirs - whom are you trying to fool.

    Dee Sunday, 11 December 2022 09:26 PM

As per the video, the sweepers are just doing their job which they are used to , don't harm them. Who was that woman in blue t shirt? Catch her and dump her in a good cell in welikada! She will be treated well(fellow inmates will like some action)

Tissa Fernando Monday, 12 December 2022 05:33 AM

The way people are commenting here explains the sick and jeleous mentality in majority of Lankans living in Lanka. These guys are jealous with those who have got the money and accuse them of robbing the country, these same guys rob the country at the very first chance they get to do so as well. Majority like the jungle law as well.

    Yoshana Monday, 12 December 2022 06:23 AM

No one has the right to hit or take law to their own hands. We talk about politicians taking laws to their own hands and destroying the country. The common people such as the people who hit that woman are all the same. If they come to the ruling chair they will do the same. First people of this country need to look within themselves, if they really want to come out of this cycle of messes. The Driver of the vehicle should hand himself to the police. What he commited was utter callus and shameful.

    DW Monday, 12 December 2022 10:44 AM

I live in a developed country and only wealthy people drive Mercs. How can someone in a country where a large percentage of the population is in poverty, can afford a luxury Merc? Where does the money come from? Don't forget, in SL, Mercs are more than 3 times the market value in other countries due to tax.

Mohamed Adham Monday, 12 December 2022 12:45 PM

Licence plate conveniently blocked, Driver missing, Owner unknown ????? . What an incredible Police force we have. Arent they ashamed to give out stories like this one ? Whom are they protecting ???Shameful. What about the poor bereaved family of the Dead three wheel driver ?
