A 28-year-old person, who had impersonated as a Coordinating Secretary to State Minister Dilum Amunugama was arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) over a fraud of Rs. 12 million.
Police said the suspect, a resident of Kelaniya had defrauded the money from an individual in Badulla to buy a vehicle.
The suspect had then cheated the victim by producing forged ID card and documents to claim that he was a Coordinating Secretary to the State Minister.
The suspect would be produced in court tomorrow.(DSB)
