Lyceum International School Wattala raked in 99 medals to win the overall championship at the International Schools’ Athletic Championships at the Sugathadasa Stadium on Sunday.
Lyceum Wattala won 44 gold, 35 silver and 20 bronze medals, as a total of 22 new meet records were set at the two-day meet.
Gateway College, Colombo were placed second winning 22 gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze medals.
Lyceum International, Panadura claimed third place winning 35 medals.
Rizwan Carrim of Lyceum International, Panadura and Dinara Bandara of Gateway College, Colombo won the Best Boys and Girls Athletes awards respectively.
Carrim won the U-20 Boys Long Jump leaping a distance of 6.91 metres while Bandara won the U-20 Girls 200m clocking 24.87 seconds.
In addition, Bandara also won the Best Performance of ISAC Award.
This is the 13th time Lyceum International won the overall championship in the history of ISAC. Gateway College, Colombo have won it seven times.
The 2021 and 2022 ISAC was not held due to Covid-19 and around 1,800 athletes from 23 International Schools participated in this year’s meet.
