We have been sold out by Central Bank to be another State of India. India first forced in the 13th Amendment under threat of military, now they have further inroads to our sovereign state. If it were a more distant country currency like Balderdash or Pakistan, who are never a threat to us, then that would be welcome. But India who insists a lot of our IMF funds be used to pay their loans is unwelcome.

Do we Srilankans have the same facility to tranact in SLR in India? Otherwise there is no balance and we are at the mercy of India

Save Sri Lanka while such a deal agreed with India will lead to lose Srilanka's sovereignty. India makes every step toward creating Tamil Eelam to activate the old TERRORIST movement i.e LTTE with the help of the US to destabilize the United Sri Lanka's concept.

You can only buy rubbish products with INR. So basically we are worse off with this arrangement. India will not accept INR for these rubbish too.

Losing sovereignty? The same was said when the FTA was signed between the two countries. India has this trade settlement arrangement with other countries as well, from Russia to UAE, Oman, Nepal, Malaysia, Singapore, Mauritius, etc. None of these countries have lost sovereignty in anyway. Trade settlement in Indian rupee helps Sri Lanka to save its precious dollars, which currently gets used up in paying unnecessary dollar conversation charges and this happens twice for every single transaction between both the currencies. This deal is beneficial for Sri Lankan govt in trade and Indian tourists while making payments in SL. Indian govt will actually loose the opportunity to add to its dollar reserves when it exports anything to Sri Lanka with this mechanism. India is doing all it can to help Sri Lanka face off the dollar crises, in return some people run smear campaign against India or allow docking of Chinese spy ships and attack submarines to be used against India.

will be bonanza for raw agents to create the Eelam in North. Just like putting the ferry. This is one of those penny wise pound foolish ideas by Ranil who discretely want give a separate state for Tamils in North like he once did with Norway.
