Congrats India, sad for SL who selects the players from 22 million while India selects from over a billion.

The population of a country does not matter look at Australia in the game of Cricket with only 25 million population. The only that matter is the right mindset.

Sam, you surely don't have a clue of what you are talking about. How many million do you need to select 11 players? or a 16-member squad? What do you think the population of New Zealand is? I will make it easy for you, it is 5.1 million. Furthermore, in 1996 we didn't have a population issue did we?

Indian charity acts do have devestating sting Sunday, 15 January 2023 09:13 PM

Sri Lanka so upbeat about Dasun Shanaka allowed to get century for charity, when he was mankad out. Surely people should know that such charity has devastating effect on the subconscious of those recieving it. They will be forced to bow down later. So Sri Lanka gratefully capitulated and Dasun Shanaka is complete failure in the ODI. So also India's credit line, it will show through as an evil sting which will harm us for long time.

Team need to get a good overseas batting and bowling coach. Probably a new head coachas well. For example Dasuns weakness with offspin coming to the wicket not corrected. Also poor team selection with once in bluemoon players like Avishka and Asalanka. Dimuth should be included in odi lineup for better stability but do not bring Chandi or Mathews as they have failed in white ball cricket recently. Drop Hasaranga from odi lineup as he is not making any impact with the ball or bat. Instead bring some genuine spinner like Spinner Jayasuriya.

None of them mentally fit to play Monday, 16 January 2023 07:08 AM

Has the Last Australian Tour Blunder Report made any impact in the minds of players? Were they so demoralized that they cannot play another match? Or did Born Again made a threat on the players? One of thing is certain. None of the current players are mentally fit to play for the Lanka team.

SLC must accept the blame totally for this debacle. SLC carried out harmful actions against SL Cricket such as increasing the number of First Class Division teams to 26 when all other countries have between 6-12 teams. This was done to get votes from cricket clubs during elections. SLC did not take helpful actions such as constructing large grounds with fast wickets and setting up a world-class Cricket Academy. SLC also squandered the money on free foreign trips to 14 Executive Members on First Class air tickets, staying in 5-star hotels with food, etc, and in addition giving US$700.0 a day as per diem. SLC also spent its money on activities unrelated to cricket. The Honourable Minister must realize that one necessary action is to dissolve SLC and revise the Constitution so that Rouge cannot contest and hold an election to Executive Committee.

Congrats India and Virat Kohli for this wonderful win!

Manmohan Singh Monday, 16 January 2023 11:59 AM

SL needs someone like Kumar Sangakara as cricket board president.

Two proud records within a matter of days. Most number of defeats and the largest margin of defeat. Congratulations, Sri Lanka.

In addition to the most number of losses in ODI cricket in the world Sri Lanka has also recorded the biggest margin of defeat in ODI cricket losing to India by a record margin of 317 runs after India scored a mammoth 395 runs for 5 wickets in 50 overs and Sri Lanka were bowled out for a paltry 73 runs in 22 overs losing the 3 match ODI series 3-0. Something to be proud of.

    Rohit Monday, 16 January 2023 11:27 PM

Sri Lanka is a lot better team than this. You guys don't worry. Such off days do come for even the best of teams.
