A 43 year-old Police Inspector attached to the Divisional Crime Detective Bureau of Anuradhapura Police has been arrested by the HQI of the Anuradhapura Police this morning in connection with the offence of aiding and abetting drug trafficking.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said five mobile phones and five ZIM cards have been taken into police custody in possession of the suspect.
He will be produced in the Anuradhapura Magistrate’s Court today and police will seek a detention order to detain him for seven days in terms of Prevention of Dangerous Drugs Ordinance. (AS)

Here is a classic example of systemic corruption in Sri Lanka. Ranjan Ramanayke is partly right. He should have said "Lawyers, Judges and the Police are corrupt". It is a known fact that the Police have been corrupt for as long as I can remember. What more evidence do you want?
