The Government today approved the purchase of 200 new low floor buses for the Sri Lankan Transport Board (SLTB).
The decision was announced during the weekly cabinet briefing at the Information Department.
The decision was taken by the transport Ministry to facilitate the city transport service.
The Cabinet ministers said the government has planned to enhance the public transport service with buses, train compartments and motor cars with modern facilities in Colombo and suburbs with more parking facilities.
For the above purpose, it has been noted that 200 low-floor buses will be purchased to be used for short distance operations, as they are more comfortable and suitable for shuttle service than the buses which are in the existing fleet, the Cabinet ministers said.

Why not buy Mercedes or MAN. These buses you can run comfortable for many years. But with this Chinese scrap the first repairs will start after 3 month use and after 2 years they are finished.
