The government should reveal Parliament as to who bore the cost of the Maldivian parliament speaker Mohamed Nasheed to attend the COP27 summit representing Sri Lanka, National People's Power (NPP) MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said today.
He told Parliament that it was surprising that the President was going round the world attending summits and funerals when people including children are starving.
SJB MP Nalin Bandara said the Maldivian Parliament Speaker attending the summit representing Sri Lanka had been questioned by the international media and said Sri Lanka as a sovereign country had been humiliated due to this representation.
The MP questioned whether Nasheed attended the summit since there were no eligible Sri Lankan to represent the country.
Leader of the House Minister Susil Premajayantha refused to answer the question saying that it was not relevant to him to comment since it is pertaining to the subject of environment. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)

This is a failed state and it is amusing to see the leader of 134 zombies cruising the world ,hand shaking with leaders of other countries for whom the credentials of this man is well known.

Hon. MP/Sir/Comrade,. Sir! Please ask to investigate who burnt our school bus in 1987? We were just students, we loved that bus. We were told it was by some terrorist organisation. We hope our brave forces have put them 6 feet under and we don't have another generation of those subversive elements!

(Part I) Why cannot anybody, Sri Lankan, Maldivian, Indian or any other (Non-National Spokes Persons - NNSP) speak on behalf of this country!!?? NNSP may be more patriotic, Passionate and affectionate towards Sri Lanka for any or no reason and don't need monetary compensation at ALL!! May be Nasheed was educated – St. Peters Colllege, Colombo, Sri Lanka, thus his gratitude!!?? Please check, whether. I am wrong!!?? Nasheed spoke the OMI – Muslim ME countries on aid/USD, none raised any objection!??? Quo Vadis SL Politicians? Weather cocks!? (TBC)
Mahila Tuesday, 08 November 2022 11:53 PM
(Part II) Why did not AKD and cohorts raise the same question of fees, when the Indian Finance Minister did support Ali Sabry at IMF meeting couple of months ago!!!???? WAS IT BECAUSE OF THE NEW FOUND ALLIANCE AND FONDLY APPEASEMENT, post July 1987 when Masoor Dhal (mistakenly thought as Mysore Dhal) was thrown out of retailers stores in all cities in south SL, instigated and controlled by the "JUNTA", that is all democratic now for vote catching!!!!???? What nonsensical amusements politicians resort to to earn their 'SUPPER'? Right/left inconsequential?

If President has to go to the summit, it is not going cheap and It is quite worthless considering the fact country that hold the summit is not a democratic country. Saving foreign exchange is a better option!

The whole efforts to get (free) funding for Climate Change is a sham that might ruin whole world Climate action. In a country known for corruption, and underhanded dealings, having a so-called world class Climate 'University' is impossible. Disappointing the SJB keeps quiet about all the ludicrousness activity. That party as corrupt in not worse than the current lot in government.
