Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Dilip Wedaarachchi staged a satyagraha inside Parliament chambers today calling for immediate relief for fishermen.
MP Wedaarachchi who was clad in black made firery remarks and called for immediate relief for fishermen.
"The fisheries industry in Sri Lanka has died. I am going to perform a Satyagraha calling for immediate relief," he said and walked towards the well and sat on the ground.
The parliamentary sessions went out of control with MPs from both sides making loud remarks.
MP Angajan Ramanathan who was at the chair requested Wedaarachchi to sit on his seat.
"Your message was heard and a solution will be provided to the issue you raised. Please go back to your seat," Angajan said. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)

If he presented the solutions in the Chamber for the Minister to review, consider that would have been better. Shows the level of mentality he has, whats the point of protesting like that. Joke
