The GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) exams end today (8), and with that, the dengue mosquito elimination programme will be conducted in all examination centres, the Examinations Department said.
The Education Ministry claimed that several leading schools had identified nearly 40 students with dengue.
Dengue-positive students were found at various leading schools, including the Cinnamon Gardens area in Colombo and the suburbs.
The GCE (O/L) exams started on May 29 at 3,568 examination centres.
However, the department is expecting to start the scrutiny of science subjects and hopes to end the process by the end of June. The Ministry also expects to start the scrutiny of language subjects at the beginning of July, along with the practical exams.
However, with the scrutiny of all the A/L subjects, the department is expecting to release the exam results by August. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
