Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando did not appear before CID today

Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando through his legal consultants Premier Legal Consultants informed CID today that he was unable to comply with the lattet's request to give a statement as directed by the Supreme courts.

Fr. Fernando was summoned to appear before CID again today to record a statement he made recently refering to intelligence officers.

"We are instructed to inform that our client had already filed SC FR application 344/2021 with Supreme courts complaining that he is under imminent infringement of the rights gurantted to him by articles 12, 13(1) , 14( 1) (a) and that he is unable to come for questioning by CID in compliance with the directions by the supreme court" the lawyers who handed over the document to CID on behalf of Fr. Fernando, said.

Also the document said the fundamental rights petition is expected to be supported in the comig days.(Yohan Perera)

As long as the minds of the people are governed by baseless hate or dislike towards their fellow human beings, rights violations against any one will be supported and endorsed. Justice and fairness should not be contaminated by hate.
