Former MP J. Sri Ranga who was arrested for allegedly influencing the witnesses over an accident in Vavuniya in 2011 was remanded till May 12 by Judge, M.M. Mohamed Nihar today.
He was arrested on March 17 while receiving treatment at the Colombo South Teaching Hospital.
Earlier, the Vavuniya High Court judge issued a warrant to arrest and produce Sri Ranga before the Court for influencing and intimidating the witnesses in a case pending before the Court, regarding the death of a police sergeant, in an accident near the Settikulam hospital, in Vavuniya, on July 30 2011.(Sithum Chaturanga)
