The licenses of fuel filling stations that supplied fuel ignoring the QR quota system would be cancelled immediately, the Power and Energy Ministry said.
“Several filling stations do not follow the "National Fuel Pass QR" system in fuel distribution,” an official said.
The decision was taken during a progress review meeting held with officials of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) yesterday.
A meeting was held to review the QR distribution mechanism, and later, the decision was taken to suspend several fuel stations that did not follow the quota system.
The recovery of Rs 105 billion owed by the CEB, cargo plans for an uninterrupted fuel supply, and the continuation of the refinery operations were also discussed at the meeting. (Chaturanga Padeep Samarawickrama)

What about a system to issue diesel for generators? We were promised a system and many moons have passed and we are still waiting. Honestly how long would it take to develop and operationalise a tailored solution to overcome the situation?

You are part of the current crisis and we don't have to pump fuel with QR ration and you want to penalize all others except your party guys who are enjoying in tax payers money. This is a real wonder of Asia.
