No need to elect 8000 money wasting LG members Monday, 06 February 2023 09:54 PM

SJB if can provide buses to schools can instead provide money to Election Commission. The LG election will have no impact on parliament so having it for the sake of India put in 13A to Constitution is utter waste of limited funds. Already so much protest against taxes, can the money raised by taxes be used for LG election instead of basic food needs of poor people?

First ministers cannot occupy any seat in cabinet or parliament without people's mandate. When elected President and PM have resigned the incumbents can hold office only for six months and and take temporary decisions.Election is a mandate to elect new government and take firm decisions on SL future.

End of the needless expenses for LG election Monday, 06 February 2023 09:51 PM

Long time ministers have been saying government very poor, so it is insanely optimist of election commission to expect the funds. Government could even as an alternative use the requested funds instead to CEB so they can provide 24 hour power during A Level exams instead. That is much better use of government funds than for the (unwanted) 13A caused unnecessary LG election.
