Colombo, July 19 (Daily Mirror) - The All Ceylon Egg Producers’ Association said that egg prices will increase from tomorrow (20), citing rising production challenges and feed shortages.
According to the association, the price of a white egg will increase to Rs. 41, while a red egg will be sold at Rs. 42.
Association President Sarath Ratnayake said the price revision was necessitated by difficulties affecting poultry feed supplies, including a shortage of maize and a decline in overall egg production.
He further stated that egg production has dropped by 20–30% due to ongoing challenges faced by the poultry industry, leading to reduced supply in the market.
