UNP Local government member arrested for harassing a female shop owner

Colombo, July 20 (Daily Mirror) - A United National Party (UNP) local government member was arrested for harassing a female shop owner in Nikaweratiya over the weekend.

The suspect had got into the shop forcefully and had harassed the woman according to police.

The suspect who is a member of a pradeshiya Sabha is said to be a resident of Galagedara. He had been under the influence of liquor at the time of the arrest.

He has been charged with misbehavior by the Nikeweratiya police
