The matter with regard to making the vaccination card mandatory when entering public places is being discussed by relevant stakeholders, the Health Ministry said.
Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr Hemantha Herath told media today that it is vital to see how this could be implemented on practical grounds.
“This is not a decision that can be taken overnight. There are various factors to be taken into account before arriving at a final decision,” he underlined.
“The factors like legal possibilities, how it can be implemented practically and the right of the people, have to be considered in depth,” he explained.
Dr Herath said if these factors were properly addressed and looked into, the relevant decision would be made in future.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella yesterday opined that the government would have to implement certain actions against unvaccinated people in future. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

Don't be so stubborn. Get yourself vaccinated. In Europe everything is almost back to normal because of the vaccines. Only people with corona who are not vaccinated are in the ICU's.

How to implement when an easily forgeable rubbish cardboard card has been issued?

Very Good. Make the vaccination card based on international standards and accepted internationally. This card will be like the vaccination card we had many years ago for Cholera, Yellow Fever etc.

Not Legal and cannot be done. There are many who cannot for health reasons. It can be voluntary. What about Vaccinated People contracting Covid and infecting the Unvaccinated !!

Absolutely correct, it works both ways. Most important, no one can be forced towards getting vaccinated.
