Says West should not interfere in other countries affairs

Russia has expressed its displeasure over the US decision to designate former Navy Commander Admiral of the Fleet Wasantha Karannagoda.

“Interference in the internal affairs of sovereign countries including Sri Lanka cannot be accepted at all,” Russian Ambassador in Colombo Levan Dzhagaryan yesterday said.

Addressing a media conference he said that Western countries should focus on their own problems.

“We talk about human rights violations in Western countries. They have many more problems. In spite of this, interference in internal affairs of sovereign countries including Sri Lanka cannot be accepted at all,” he said.

“No one has the right to lecture you (Sri Lanka) on what you should do or what should not to do. It is your internal problem,” the ambassador said.

“There is an English saying. If you live in a house made of glass, don't throw stones from there,” he also said

Every country has the right to let a person into the country or not. This doesn't even need to be justified. In this case it was Karannagoda who got it. This was even justified with the fact that he is a war criminal, which is also known in Sri Lanka. The ambassador of a rogue state condemned by the UN for its barbaric war of aggression and whose president is a war criminal wanted around the world would be well advised to refrain from making such comments.

Russia, please practice what you preach. We Sri Lankans are glad countries as USA and Europe are controlling State Criminality of countries like Sri Lanka, if not, this will be a country of total State sponsored anarchy, racism and absolute corruption which it is partly now.
