A case filed against nine Aragalaya activists including popular artiste Damitha Abeyratne, General Secretary of Ceylon Teachers Union Joseph Stalin and youth activist Rathindu Senaratne alias ‘Ratta’ for allegedly blocking the main entrance to the Magistrate’s Court, was today fixed for October 9 by Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court.
Meanwhile, the Court directed the police to submit an investigation report regarding this incident on next hearing date.
The Slave Island Police filed this case against the Aragalaya activists for allegedly obstructing police officers from carrying their duties while engaging in a protest blocking the main entrance to the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court on May 30 last year. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)
