With vaccination drive which is underway in full swing, the people can go back to their normal lives by second week of the month of November, State Minister Channa Jayasumana said.

He expressed these views at an event in Anuradhapura today.

“The vaccination drive in the country has been outstanding that we have been able vaccinate over 50% of total population, which is a stupendous achievement when compared to other countries,” he pointed out.

“If we are to get back to normalcy, it is of utmost importance that we maintain and honour the current momentum where virus transmission in society seems slowing down, the number of cases and deaths are on the decline,” he stressed.

Thus, the State Minister invited the citizens to be responsible in the coming few weeks so that the country would gradually return to normalcy by the second week of this November.

However, Health professionals are of the opinion that the country would have reaped more benefits if the prevailing lockdown had been properly and strictly enforced. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

Your comments are taken as a joke, firstly keep to your word of producing vaccines by 25/07/21 after a false proclamation made by you on 25/05/21. Public are concerned whether you are genuinely a qualified person.

He is assuming that the chinese vaccine will work. It hasn't worked anywhere. The little immunity conferred by sinopharm vaccine appears to fade away within weeks or a few months.

You mean second week of November this year or next year? You all are very clever in making such statements but it is the general public who is going to face the difficulties.
