Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang said China will implement the G20’s Debt Service Suspension Initiative in all respects and added that China will work with relevant G20 members to formulate and participate in a fair and equitable debt-restructuring plan, according to the Chinese Embassy in Colombo.
Chinese Premier Li on Thursday met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in Huangshan City, Anhui Province, pledging to strengthen macro-policy coordination.
The embassy shared this news with the local press at a time Sri Lanka is seeking debt restructuring as part of its arrangement with the IMF. Noting that China has been a participant in, upholder of and contributor to global economic governance, Li said China has kept a sound cooperative relationship with the IMF for many years. He said China will continue to strengthen macro-policy coordination with all parties, including the IMF, to tackle debt, climate change and other global challenges, and make greater contributions to promoting global economic recovery and sustainable development.

Very sad to note that our politicians are concentrating on loans and loans and nothing else , which is bound to lead us to a failed state.Nothing is talked about the cause of the economic crisis (as we did not suffer as today even during the 30 year old war).Firstly we need you to expose/punish/Imprison those responsible and then adopt a economic development strategy formulated by the economists

China is a country that always cooperates with the international issues of this nature. Recently, China cut huge sum of money given as loans to the poor countries of the African continent.

To higher echelons of Chinese administration. As a friendly nation of SriLanka,Chinese nation should hold hands with people of SriLanka, not with Rajapaksa rouge family, who swindled country’s wealth connivance with unscrupulous Chinese merchants, (mainly) . it is highly welcome Chinese PM’s recent speech and we all SriLankans expecting in same spirit, your support to uncover, where the stolen treasure deposited, which will subdue much of our difficulties and that will consolidate our friendship for ever

China must write off at least75% of loans given to Sri Lanka. This will really help Sri Lanka to come out of the problem.

Chinese should not sound like saints. Chinese govt is the one who paid kick backs to Rajapakses and ruined the country’s economy. People of Sri Lanka must realize this and avoid talking like bunch of beggars.
