Former Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) Chair Prof. Charitha Herath accuses President and Prime Minister for making way for corruption, by excluding his appointment to the committee.

"After a delay of two months COPE member list is out. As predicted, my name isn't in the list. Thieves, deal makers who are in favour of a corrupted system won for the day. People behind the economic crimes wanted me out of their way. Shame on you President and Prime Minister," he tweeted.

Prof. Herath served as the COPE Chair from 2020 to 2022.

Very sad Prof! You are not with the Govt; you are not with the opposition; Look where you stand! You are with a nameless bunch of losers. What is the name of your team? You trampled on so many toes, not knowing they belong to some big foot. In politics, it is you scratch my back and I scratch your b..... Just because President and PM were elevated to high chairs, despite having single seat does not mean you too will be raised, based on your group! You can only lament now, who cares!
