The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) yesterday recorded a statement from former minister Rajitha Senaratne over a statement he made at a news conference that a group of students from a school in Colombo had been infected with Covid-19.
Sources said CCD officers recorded the statement from the former minister at the Pallansena Prison in Negombo where he was being detained, following a court order.
The CCD launched an investigation against former minister over his alleged statement reported to have made in March at a news conference.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
