All services, including the issuing of all types of passports, at the Immigration Department's head office have been suspended due to a system failure, the Immigration and Emigration Department said.
Deputy Controller of Immigration and Emigration Piyumi Bandara said all services were suspended today until the system is restored.
However, no decision was taken not to accept the applications from the people who were queuing at the department, she said.
Therefore, people were asked to be patient until the system is restored. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

This system is almost always down. The fault is not in the system, but the people using it.
