The evaluation of 2022 CGE Advanced Level (A/L) examination papers is at risk of further delays, as teachers have not been paid as they were promised according to Joseph Stalin, Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers' Union.

As a result of the delays, which have been caused by the Education Ministry and Examinations Department's irresponsible actions, examiners at Kandy Girls' High School withdrew from their duties yesterday.

Stalin's statements highlight the urgent need for the government to address the concerns of teachers and ensure that they are paid the promised payment on timely manner.

It is crucial that teachers who play a vital role in shaping the future of the country, are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.

This includes providing them with the necessary resources and support to carry out their duties effectively and efficiently.

The government must take immediate steps to resolve the issue and ensure that the evaluation of the 2022 CGE A/L examination papers proceeds without further delays. According to Mr. Stalin, examiners have claimed that the union objected to not being paid their advanced payments for the examination paper evaluation process.

Despite these objections and demands, the responsible authorities have failed to take any responsibility for the situation, leaving examiners frustrated and concerned about the future of the evaluation process of all examinations.

Stalin's comments underscore the importance of ensuring that teachers and other education professionals are treated fairly and justly. It is crucial for the government to prioritize the needs and concerns of these individuals, who are considered pillars in moulding the future generations. By addressing the demands of the examiners and other education professionals, the government can work towards creating a more supportive and equitable education system for all. Why they don't pay on time . It is very bad .. Teachers are paying from their pockets to come and mark these papers and some of them come from villages and they spend extra money in expectation they will be paid on time . This government is like a private company As and when ministers and their cohort want to pay they will do so otherwise holding grudge over teachers for their demands.. That why so many teachers leaving the country. All teachers will leave except our politicians to teach in our schools or we will import some teachers from India soon...this is not a joke .

One cannot blame the teachers always. They too need to be paid properly given the present high inflation

This is a total disgrace for the country. Conducting of Advance Level examinations and release results on time is a bounded duty of the ministry. They seem thoroughly disorganized in every aspects of their activities. Government is very keen to spend money to spend on Tamashas but won't give two hoots to conduct examinations in a proper manner.

No teacher will leave SL as stated by LoveLK, because in which other country can they do nothing during school time and then earn from private tuitions without paying any tax. If they go aboard they will have to work and not seen protesting on the streets during working hours without teaching inside classrooms

In this country, paying for a useless and bloated military apparatus is more important than paying for an understaffed faculty. By the way, what a brainless parent it must have been to name their son after a cruel butcher like Joseph Stalin.

Is the Education Minister sleeping? He must solve this problem otherwise, even the students will get in to the streets to protest.

No one want to disturb our examinations at all .but the government must take care of teachers

This guy's main mission is to destroy the Sri Lankan education system upto AL exams while his friends in JVP are doing the same after A levels in the Universities and Colleges. This cancer has spread a lot and it is now in the irrecoverable stage.

Mohamed Ifaz Inamdeen Sunday, 25 June 2023 07:47 AM

School teachers must be paid well. The education minister should intervene and want to take constructive measures to settle all arrears and payments. He wanna force treasury to release funds to school teachers.
