BOC General Manager Russel Fonseka confirmed that 265 Bank Of Ceylon (BOC) branches including the Head Office and all divisions are operating, as usual, to serve the public with banking services despite the ongoing strike, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.
People’s Bank Acting CEO/GM Clive Fonseka confirmed that 272 Branches out of the 340 are fully functional with attendance reported at over 75% as at 10.30 AM today, the PMD said.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Transport Board Chairman Lalith de Alwis confirmed that all 107 depots are operating according to the regular timetable as of 11.00 a.m today. Out of 8 unions, 7 are fully cooperative, excluding the JVP Union, the PMD said.

Obviously, these 2 banks have erased the loans taken by politicians and are recovering the damages by increasing loan interest from poor people. Absolute cowardice!

These are all bankrupt political hench-aiya banks. They cannot send even and LC for US$ 10 out of the country and no international bank will recognize them.

Go and see the head office of people's bank......the queue of people. There is no use of talking of small mercies by PMD
