A robber of a gang of three was injured in a shootout at Modara, Mattakkuliya while attempting to rob Rs. 500,000 from a woman this afternoon and was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital, police said.

Police said the gang of three robbers had snatched a woman’s bag with money while she was going to deposit them in a bank.

Her taxi driver had chased after the robbers and caught one of them and assaulted him. The other robbers had opened fire at the taxi driver but it was hit their colleague instead, Police said.

The other two robbers were reported to have fled the scene.

The injured robber was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital under Police security. (ISA)

This brave human being should be protected from that unlawful robbers because those rascals may try to take revenge from that innocent person. This is because nowadays even politicians don't show any value for human beings and they along with their supporters freely hitting people and killing people. The law and order in the country not in sound stage.
