A Woman Police Constable was yesterday hacked to death with a manna knife on an overhead bridge at Lotus Road in Colombo Fort allegedly by her boyfriend who is a police constable

The suspect PC Nilantha Pushpakumara of Walapana attached to the Monaragala Police Station was admitted to Colombo National Hospital after he is alleged to have consumed poison.

The Colombo Fort Magistrate, who visited the hospital, ordered the suspect be remanded till January 11 and be provided with prison security. Police said the suspect’s health condition was improving.

The Fort police informed Court that the tragedy had happened at around 7.15 a.m. on the overhead bridge at Lotus Road while the woman constable was walking on the bridge.

The deceased Nadeeshani Madushani was a resident of Bibile. She had suffered severe cut injuries to the neck, hands and the chest. She was attached to the Police Headquarters Sports Unit.

So you think in other countries criminals and corrupted politicins do not exist?USA and in Australia topped the crime list and Italy Greece and Portugal score for political corruption at Government level together with UK !.Attitudes of Sri Lankans are not good even.Look how they drive and the way Bus drivers,Three wheelers and Motor bycycle riders behave on the road!!!.Look hoe government servants work at offices and asking for more money!!University lecturers apart from getting a starting salary of nearly Rs.70,000 still asking for more!! CJ buying illegall properties and presiding in the court to hear cases against their husbands!! Opposition leaders sleeping and getting car permits selling without uttering a word!!.Same opposition asking for an impeachment and when Govt bring the impeachment they fight against it!! In the country where, from Point Pedro to Dondra, it was safe for a woman with a gem to walk safely. Sub standard politicians, values, morals and a faster eroding human qualities. None of the politicians even seem to care, as their kith and kin are well protected.
MR has visited the slain politicians house. What about this hapless woman? She's classified under "all and sundry?"
