Watch out for thunder showers
Heavy thunder showers can be expected in some parts of the country during the next few days as a result of a depression in the Bay of Bengal, the Meteorology Department warned yesterday.A Met Department spokesman said the Eastern, North Central, Uva and the Hambantota Districts could be affected while some of the other parts of the country might experience evening thunder showers.
Those going to sea have also been warned of rough seas.
Bringing about a break in the extremely dry weather in the weather, Hiniduma in the Galle District yesterday had a rainfall of 28 milimetres while Ratnapura had a rainfall of 27 mm while rest of the country had only experienced a traces of rain. (Yohan Perera)
