The OIC of  theWadduwa police station Lalith Weerasinghe was interdicted by IGP N.K. Illangakoon last evening on the findings of the preliminary inquiry against the officer concerned.

It is alleged that the OIC who investigated a dispute between two parties had shown favouritism to one party.  The inquiry into the incident was held by ASP Dissanayake on the instructions of Senior DIG Anura Senanayake. (K.S.Fernando and Kusal Chamath)
