Veteran actor J. H. Jayawardena passed away this morning at the age of 94 at his residence in Kandana.

The actor who began his career in theatre acted in many teledramas and over 25 films. J.H. was also a famous radio personality.

H.D. Premaratne’s ‘Seilama’, Wasantha Obeysekara’s ‘Dadayama’, Dharmasiri Bandaranayake’s ‘Suddilage Kathava’, Parakrama Niriella’s ‘Ayoma’ and D.B. Nihalsinghe’s ‘Maldeniye Simiyon’, were some of his well known films.

The funeral will be held tomorrow, June 4. (Susitha R. Fernando)
