Video: US-bound artefacts discovered

A 69-year-old tour guide was arrested yesterday on charges of having attempted to smuggle valuable Sri Lankan artefacts to the United States through the Sri Lankan post courier service.

The man was arrested after the Postal department opened suspicious parcels which were US-bound. The parcels contained valuable Sri Lankan artefactsof archeological value.

Investigations by Archeological Department officials revealed that when they raided the suspect’s residence in Kotahenathey found a large quantity of artefacts.
