Four escape from Mahara Prison

Four prisoners of the Mahara Prison have escaped during heavy rains in the area last evening, prisons department spokesman Gamini Kulatunga said.Mahara Prison officials said the prisoners serving sentences ranging from 7, 9 and 20 years were from Polonnaruwa, Marawila, Dankotuwa and Seeduwa areas.
A special police team has been deployed to arrest them.(Darshana Sanjeewa)
