The 15-year-old boy, who was arrested on charges of having knocked down a 10-year-old girl and her 47-year-old mother in Dematagoda yesterday, was remanded till January 29 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate Court.

The Dematagoda Police said the boy’s mother was also remanded till January 25.

She was alleged to have been teaching her son to drive when the tragedy occurred.

The girl and her mother were killed on admission to the Colombo National Hospital. (Shehan Chamika Silva)
