Soldier shoots soldier & commits suicide

A soldier shot his colleague and then took his life after an argument over a personal dispute when the two soldiers were conducting duty at a security check post near the Naga Viharaya in Jaffna this monring.
The soldier who had fired was a Private and the other was a Lance Corporal, Military spokesman Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasuriya said.
Military sources said soldiers who were in the vicinity immediately rushed to the scene after they heard the noise of gun shots and found the men lying on the ground with gun shot injuries.
Both of them had succumbed to their injuries before admission to the Jaffna General Hospital. The soldiers were attached to the 51st Division.(Supun Dias)
