SB likely to get same treatment: IUSF
Following the incidents at the Sabaragamuwa University where Higher Education Minister S.B. Dissanayake was forced to leave through an alternate route on Sunday, the Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) today said he would likely to get the same treatment at other universities as well in future.
“It is likely that Minister Dissanayake will face the same fate he faced at the Sabaragamuwa University in other universities. The students were only raising their voice for their rights and against the low standard hostel built in the campus,” IUSF convener Najith Indika told a news conference in Colombo.
Police fired water cannons to disperse protesting Sabaragamuwa University students at the Pambahinna Junction in Balangoda on Sunday, when they tried to prevent Minister Dissanayake from entering the University to declare open the new hostel. (Lahiru Pothmulla)
