Roads closed today

Police Headquarters said that number of prominent arrivals will take place tomorrow, therefore roads in Colombo would be subjected for three closures throughout the day.

Roads will be closed from 9.45am-10.15am, 6.30pm-7.00pm and 10.30pm to 12.30pm.

Police spokesman Ajith Rohana said that roads will not be permanently closed from 10.30pm to 12.30. They would be closed accordingly as there are VVIP arrivals at 1030pm, 11.00pm and 12.00am.

The roads to be closed at those times are: The Katunayake-Colombo Expressway, Baseline Road, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Thunmulla, Galle Road from Bamabalapitiya and Kollupitiya.

A large number of Heads of Government and delegates are scheduled to arrive today including Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Kurshid and tomorrow, which will record the highest number of arrivals for CHOGM. (Supun Dias)
