Rajarata Uni closed indefinitely

The University of Rajarata has been closed until further notice, Vice Chancellor Ranjith Wijewardane said today.

The Administrative Board of the University has asked the students to leave the hostels before 4 pm, tomorrow.

Professor Wijewardane also said that the decision has been taken after Lecturers at the University decided to withdraw from all educational and administrative services since last Monday in protest over the recent incidents at the University.

Earlier the students surrounded the Vice Chancellor’s office on June 26 over the suspension of several students and released them on the next day following a discussion with the university administration. (Athula bandara)
