Heavy rains are expected in the next few days as a result of the low pressure conditions prevailing in the atmosphere over the country, Department of Meteorology said today.
It said thundershowers would be fairly widespread especially during the afternoon or night. Fairly heavy rainfalls of about 100mm are also likely at some parts of the country.
Seas that circle Sri Lanka are expected to be rough and dangerous with winds at speeds exceeding 68 kilometres an hour. Those going out to sea are warned to be on the alert for dangers resulting from gale force winds.
This is the second successive day when the Met Department saw it fit to issue a weather advisory. (YP)
