Protesters stopped from going towards Temple Trees
Thousand-strong STF and police personnel blocked the protest march over the impeachment of Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake from proceeding towards the President’s House.
Lawyers, trade union activists and civil rights groups began their protest march from Hulftsdorp this morning. Police, STF and Anti-riot Squads armed with tear gas and water cannons were deployed to maintain law and order. (H.F)
