He is a very far sighted President. True many were upset about his silence re nominations for Ex Pres. However, as he explained, he had a very good reason i.e. to see that the 19th Amendment was passed, he had to suck up to these crooks. Now we look forward to the best 5 years of Si Lanka's prosperity. So please give him good people to run the Govt.
I think he answered all these points very well, please listen to the complete speech.

Regret to say this, But he is the most un-trusted president in the history of Sri Lanka for having let down 6.2 million citizens who had hope in him

president has presented important and effective speech at his statement.Whatever, people can trust only one fact is president. He was elaborated some minor issues with in his current political arrangement. Therefor, existing political leaders must be concerned about short out those issues and should go with journey with president. The speech has covered all over the information and details-about past , current and future political shape and behind reality of the screen of the country. As citizens , what we need to do now, that is to be empowered president through giving power his favorable alliance.

Was the ever heard humble, ambitious, self-confident, strong, focused speech in my Life. Some feels other way, that is why some groups can create troubles for their benefit with the nation. But we are strongly behind you Sir, please lead this revolution for the sake of eradicate the slavery thinking from the nation.

First time hearing a leader of a party want his nominated party men to get defeated.
My3 the decent one, tried his best to show SLFP the correct path but they of the corrupt SLFP who had wallowed in muck, knew their salvation was with the mucky MR. My3 who was in the SLFP for 49 years had his heart in it and the country. But MR only wanted power to loot some more. There is always a time when the Devil-Satan may tempororily win, but finally godliness will triumph in the end.

Down to earth, honest statement, of facts , of the trials and tribulations faced by him. Also the underhand manoeuvres and plots hatched to oust him. Compare his composure during his talk as against some others.

I think we all who spoke against the President must realize that we were wrong but we cannot blame them as the President took a long time to explain us his position. If he did this speach on the 9th itself the situation would have been much different.Anyway it is too late and we all must now help him to bring his vision to a victory by voting the party which is willing to do it.Sorry Mr.Pewsident

President Sirisena made a mistake by bribing the SLFP members offering ministerial positions. He could have bargained with the MPs easily by threatening to dissolve the Parliament before April 23rd if they did not support the budget and the 19th amendment. If the Parliament dissolved, they would have lost the pension rights which most of them were hoping to get. Second error he made was delaying to dissolve the Parliament. As promised he should have dissolved late April. Third error was accepting the leadership of the SLFP without having his supporters in the executive committee, mainly the position of the General Secretary.
