United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Southern Provincial Council Member D.W. Prathapasinghe resigned from his post after making a special statement in the Council today.

Prathapasinghe, a former Police DIG, was elected to the Council from the Matara District at the last Southern Provincial Council Election.
