Police recover bodies of father and son

The body of a 36-year-old man and that of his nine-year-old-son were recovered from their home at Agarapathana this morning.

Police said they believed that the father and son might have committed suicide by hanging themselves from a beam of their home.

Agarapathana police are conducting investigations while the magisterial inquiry would be carried out shortly. (LSP)

This is terrible. What a loss of precious lives. This does not happen only in Sri Lanka, two days ago a woman in the US drove her SUV into the sea with her little children inside and they were all saved in the nick of time before the vehicle was ungulfed by the waves, all shown live on CNN.

I cannot believe that a nine year old child is capable of hanging himself unless he was at least coerced by the father. The father is guilty of murder.
