Peliyagoda UC budget defeated

The annual budget of the UPFA-controlled Peliyagoda Urban Council was defeated by three votes today, for the first time in the history of the Urban Council.

When the vote was taken up, three ruling party members and three UNP members voted against it. The budget received three votes for and six votes against it.

The three ruling party members who voted against it were G.G. Sarath De Silva, K.D. Ananda Pushpa Kumara and Aruna Darshana Ambawatte.(Thilak Nimalasooriya and W.D.M. Withanage)
