One killed,12 injured in bus collision

One person was killed another 12 persons were injured when a private bus collided with a luxury bus while attempting to overtake it in Mundalama area in the Puttalam-Chilaw main road a short while ago.

Police said that the luxury bus was bound to Jaffna at the time of the incident. The injured were admitted to the Puttalm and Mundalama Hospitals. The incident was reported around 12.15pm.

The luxury bus had crashed into two trees after it collided with the other bus. The victim was the assistant driver of the luxury bus, the police said.

The driver and the conductor of the private bus had fled the area following the incident. The driver of the luxury bus was arrested by the Mundalama Police. (SD)

motorcycles, trishaws and buses...these are the actors always which gets into sum accident...reckless driving, wat else....

I agree but you have missed out saying all sorts of vehicles are responsible for reckless driving. Buses are the worst offenders I think, but the vast majority of drivers of any sort of vehicle in this country have only one thing in mind with regards to overtaking: 'It is in front of me, I must overtake.' It makes no difference if the overtaking is on a curve, at the crest of a hill or on a congested street. Same attitude prevails in queues at shops and the post office.

Why is the police arresting the luxury bus driver for the mistake of the privet bus.
First the police has to asses who was at fault prior to arresting people and making them look like they are at fault even if they are not.
