One killed, 53 injured in two accidents
At least one passenger was killed and 53 injured due to two separate accidents in Kotmale and Gampola this morning, police said.
In the first incident, in Pundaluoya, Kotmale, at least 30 passengers were injured due to a head-on collision of a private bus and a CTB bus in the early hours today. The injured were admitted to the Kotmale and Gampola hospitals.
In the second accident, a private passenger bus went down a precipice in Berawila in Gampola area around 7.30 a.m. today killing one passenger and injuring 23 others.
The injured were admitted to the Gampola and Nawalapitiya hospitals.(Darshana Sanjeewa)
