Making a place for an airport at Nèlliya is an another project. Perhaps we could buldoze few mountainous, blast a huge rock outcrops and form a very wide flat land at a cost. My only worry is that unlike in "Mattala", the landing and take off would be very risky in a " wet & misty environment" . Under the circumstances, the "future Generations" would decide to take "land rout" to mitigate the "air risk".

How on earth can we invest on non-productive projects in the mistaken belief that in the future people will benefit? Mattala and Hambantota projects are dead ducks. There is no logical explanation to spend billions of borrowed money for mega non-productive ego seeking projects. Can anyone with little bit of sense justify another mega project to build an airport in Nwuraeliya? Let me give a brief on air-ports/strips in this banana republic. Ratmanala -- Koggala-- Weeravila--- Mattala-- Ampara-- Batticoloa--- Trincomalee-- Palali--- Iranamadu--- Hingurakkgoda-- Vaunia--- Anuradhapura--- Sigiriya-- Katunayaka-- for fixed wing aircrafts. I think there are three locations for amphibian air crafts. For a country of 65,000 sq km of land we have 17 airports which makes an airport for every 3800 sq. km. We must be the only country which have such a record? What do we call ourselves? IDIOTS--- JOKERS--POL MODAYAS- PISSU HATAN- EGISTIC DOKEYS.

What humbug...mega developments is based on neccessities and business plan as this is enormous public money and not to whims and fancies of a meglomaniac. Hambantota Harbor, Mihin and MRIA are not even breakeven nor 10% loss, but truthfully a 100% loss to the public being mutilmillion projects. Simple example of a leaders "pada show".
