NDB request for stay order dismissed

A request for a stay order by the National Development Bank (NDB), to prevent former Chief Justice ShiraniBandaranayake’s counsel from obtaining the assistance of computer experts to access bank documents and files, was dismissed by Colombo High Court Judge M.T.B Morias.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitya had on a previous hearing allowed computer experts to access Dr. Bandaranayake’s bank accounts at the NDB.

The High Court affirmed the previous ruling and fixed further inquiry for August 25. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda and Farook Thajudeen)
