More training for SL officers discussed-Army

Sri Lanka and Pakistan have explored the avenues of receiving more and more training opportunities for Sri Lankan officers in Pakistan, in addition to ongoing training programmes, the Army Headquarters said.

This was discussed when visiting Chief of Army Staff, Pakistan Army General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani met with his Sri Lankan counterpart General Jagath Jayasuriya in Colombo on Thursday evening.

“Cordial discussions that ensued afterwards between both Army Chiefs centered largely on military matters of mutual and training interest and possibilities for further enhancing bonds of goodwill and cooperation,” it said.

Participation in Sri Lanka Army’s Defence Seminar, higher education programmes in both countries and Sri Lanka’s military exercise ‘cormorant’, etc were among other matters that were taken up. Discussions also focused on possibilities of broadening bilateral understanding and goodwill among officers of both organizations further, it added.

This your mentality Alapan, have you forgotten that your Indian IPKF soldiers could not even approach the LTTE bases in Jaffna and over thousand IPKF soldiers just died like buffaloes, so how come your paramilitary could make our forces squat just like that. Do not underestimate our forces, with the help of your neighbors our brave soldiers could make Indians squat like the tamed elephants

Training in Pakistan is NOT a good idea!!!

Our President who is democratically elected should not allow any training in Pakistan where the military worked against the democracy and seized power more than once.

Send them to safe places like other part of India or West.

sri lankan military should start a training camp in lanka and start training foreign military officials. sri lanka won the war. now sri lanka can use that experience to train other countries and make money from it.

If that is ur level of knowledge then god help u.. And btw @ lankan..Russia is our closest friend.. and Pakistan is imploding...the only problem for India is China.. Srilanka does not even count..Indians will have to just send its paramilitary force to squat the Srilankans

A good lesson for Indians and especially for TN Politicians. Pakistan could provide better training to our officers than the Indians as they have good facilities and better relationship with Sri Lanka at all times.
